Beads (again)

Dammit!
Both shipments of glass beads arrived in great condition, bearing out the experimental orders I'd placed on the basis of the color-code system I'd worked out earlier. I now have many more gorgeous beads-- and thanks to cross-referencing one of the new color codes with an older one, I've discovered that I already had even more uranium-glass beads than I knew about.
This, of course, leads me back to the original color-code back at the NYC supplier, where they have even MORE of the newly-discovered uranium-glass blend. And they kindly gave me a coupon with my most recent order, too-- for 10% off a minimum of $200.
*twitch twitch twitch* (deep breaths)
I do *not* need more beads right now. Not until I go get even more storage containers to deal with the ones that came in last week. Meanwhile, the magatama production run is still on progress.
*runs screaming into the night, leaving a UV-activated green fluorescent trail of beads*

on 2007-08-27 04:01 pm (UTC)No, I don't really want to spend more money right now (although there is the niggling idea that well, I've cleared an extra $600 this month from uranium-glass jewelry, so buying more uranium-glass deeds should be a good investment of sorts). But I do want those beads.
Their absolute minimum order is only about $50. Maybe I can go with that. *mutter mutter twitch*

on 2007-08-27 06:56 pm (UTC)However, considering how much those two people on eBay have been cleaning out my uranium-glass items, I do have to think that at some point, they're going to hit their own buying limits. OTOH I'm just inherently fascinated by uranium glass.
...in my other browser window, I am surreptitiously filling my virtual shopping basket with beads again. Still determined not to actually *buy* any more until I have more storage containers, but I'm about to head out in search of same. The remaining hope(?) is that since the two larger containers I bought over the past few weeks seemed to be the last two of their kind at OSH, they might be out of them; I could resort to Home Depot, but didn't like the similar items there that I was able to find.

on 2007-08-27 09:22 pm (UTC)Yes, if you sell $200 worth of necklaces. (You know better than I how well your business does; I've, um, seen other examples of someone plowing tons into supplies and making tons of jewelry, then selling only a small fraction of it and feeling really proud of giving most of it away to her friends, relatives, coworkers and charity cases.)
Are you sure you want more containers?

on 2007-08-28 02:35 am (UTC)ME: Please put these necklaces away that you've got spread out over everything.
SOMEBODY ELSE: They won't fit in the container.
ME: (gets up, walks over, puts them in the container they're lying right on top of)
