Wherein naughtiness progresses toward starting to ensue, or, (as the wombat-consort asked) "What's the Japanese word for *squish squish*"?
#9#
Still seated on the floor, Kenshin thoughtfully catches Kaoru mid-facefault.
Her:
= a() *to*
-- "Oh--! *thud*
Him:
= Mattaku...
-- "Really..."
+++
Her:
~[two scribbled kanji + the hiragana for "na so"(?); the first kanji looks vaguely kinda the word for "horse", which would lead to the inference that both kanji together read "baka" except that the second one doesn't seem to fit. Bleah. And my doujinshi just separated from its binding waaah.]
Him: (providing fond huggles)
= [Kaoru-dono] wa [ama]eru-no ga [heta] de-gozarunaa...
= [hey you] [topic] acting-cute [subject] clumsy is-not...
-- "Mistress Kaoru, you must be toying with me. You're not clumsy at all."
[After the plain form of a verb or adjective, -no can act as a nominalizing suffix. Amaeru is something like behaving in a cutely childish manner to elicit involuntary yelps of "Kawaiii!"]
+++
= [sunao]-ni [nan]demo [i]eba ii no-ni...
= openly anything would-say good in-order-to
-- "If there's something you'd like to say plainly, please go ahead."
[sunao(-na) is another nounlike adjective; sunao-ni is the adverbial form]
Her:
= [Kenshin]...
+++
= soba-ni iru no-ni tsurakute [kuru]shii no...
= nearby [animate-existence] although bitter/difficult painful/needy [girly statement softener]
[Behold the weird "continuative" form of tsurai; I suppose that literally the suffixes break down into bitter-ly-being. I am not confident about the following sentence; theoretically various words could also be grouped as "iru-no ni" (in the state of being?) and so on.]
-- "Even though it's difficult for me, I need to be close to you..."
+++
She glomps upon him with great angst.
= o[nega]i | *gyau* | motto... [tsuyo]ku [da]ite...
-- "Could you please" | *glomp* | "hold me tight..."
#10(43)# [again omitting framebreaks]
He reciproglomps, happily pulling her sideways onto his lap. *n..* ("Mmm...")
*gyau()* ("more glomp")
Yet she's still trembling and unhappy, the ungrateful wench. *DOKIDOKI* ("KATHUMP KATHUMP")
Uh-oh. Looks like he's entering hormone trance. He slips one hand around the nape of her neck (*sharu*, snaky motion, "slide") and eases the collar of her yukata aside. Good thing he's not a vampire. *piko* ("kiss")
One of them gasps; Kaoru seems to be less certain of what's going on, but her heartbeat is picking up decibels.
= a() | ken... shin | *DOKUN* ("KA-THUD")
[Hey look, she said his name in hiragana! Generally I figure that indicates slo-mo, though I could be wrong.]
#11(44)# [and yet again, skipping framebreaks]
Woohoo! Kenshin has himself a Kaoru bendy doll with smoochable bosoms! More snaky/kissy/gaspy noises, but did he remember his speculum?
*gui* ("gasp") [repeated for good measure, to demonstrate both hiragana and katakana]
= da() dame | ya() | [Kenshin]... | yaan()
[*sigh* and now we get to the ritual incantations of various ways to say "No, stop, you mustn't do that, nope, no way" and lots of other things that make the script sound like she's being raped, whereas the artwork looks much more sweetly consensual with a token dash of maidenly shyness. From this point for quite a while, I'm only going to bother with Real Lines and the occasional new sound effect.]
#12(45)#
Him:
= IYA na no? | neE?
-- "NO? Are you sure? | Really?
Her:
= n() | uun... [more ways to say no]
Him:
= [kan]jiru...
= feel
"I'm feeling..."
[Feelings... nothing more than feeeeelings... I *still* don't know how to parse this sort of statement, since Japanese verbs don't inflect by person. All I can really say is that it's in the affirmative non-past indicative form, so it could be "I'm feeling you" or "You're going to feel something nifty", though not the command form "Feel this!" or the question of potentiality "Can you feel the love tonight". Sigh.]
