...I have got to break the habit of chewing off my fingertips (not the nails down to the quick, but also the surrounding bits of flesh around the corners/edges) while watching DVDs.
The only upside is that once the fingernails are down to the bleedy point, it hurts too much to keep using them to peel open the intermittent "doujinshi translation injury" on the inside of my thumb. On the other hand, if I peel off too much of my left thumbnail, I can't use it to finish off beadwork until it grows back.
(It's a poorly-formed writing callus around the joint which gradually thickens until it spontaneously cracks open, unless I can thin it down first by either removing layers (which tends to overshoot down to non-dead skin) or applying various ointments (which takes forever). It isn't always the result of transcribing/transliterating/glossing doujinshi with pen onto paper, but that's the general correlation. I don't know what started it this time, but it's been hanging around for the last few months. I figure that if it's already there anyway, I might as well find another doujinshi to work on, esp. since "Ryuha 2" has started to show up on eBay (though judging from Yamaguchirow's recent plot trends, I might not actually like it :| )
