Just spilled a cup of cranberry juice onto our (increasingly) off-white carpet. Think I've managed to get almost all of it out, though-- initially sopped up as much as possible w/ damp towels, then redampened the spots w/ plain water and two rounds of diluted white vinegar, re-sopping with dry towels in between.

While pondering the traditional advice of pouring club soda onto red wine stains, I figured that the key element had to be the effervescence, and so I finished off by massaging baking powder into the damp pink spots, sprinkling plain water over them to dissolve, and towelling off the slightly fizzy solution. Two repeats of that seem to've removed the last vestiges of pink, though we'll see how it looks once it's dry; luckily(?), today is fairly warm (high 80s), and so I'd've turned our small electric fan on anyway, though I've had to tilt the base up onto a cat toy to make the airflow point downward.

The Folex stuff -- round spray bottle with purple print on a while bottle is the detergent you want for cleaning this up. It works. Safeway had it, by me.

Supposedly, because it only contains non-ionic surfactants, you don't have to rinse it out, it won't attract dirt. That was my experience, I guess.
