boom shakalaka

Cats really do *not* like earthquakes.

I'm sure they'll come back out from under the furniture eventually.

Hope you're all right. Since you're posting, I assume that you are.

Furniture, bookshelves, walls etc. are all intact despite their brief moonlighting as percussion instruments. (Lots of crackling; deep subsonic booming through the floor.)

A catloaf has reappeared in the middle of the carpet despite having no feet. I assume this means that everything has officially returned to normal.

Was about to ask you you could hear the subsonic booming, but, right, vibrations --> feet.

I assume this means that everything has officially returned to normal.

I wouldn't know. S/he might have realized that s/he has nowhere to escape to. (To which to escape?)

I'd be with the cats! On the other hand, my classmates from CA have much the same reaction to tornados, so I suppose it's all in what you're used to. Glad to hear everything is okay.

I'm not convinced you actually have cats. I have seen no evidence of cats in your house (except for the occasional pair of glowing eyes underneath the furniture). I think you're renting used cat litter and cat toys from a neighbor to make people *think* you have cats.

(But if you did have cats, I'm sure they would be adorable ones.)

The quake in SF was mostly noticeable as a slight rolling and mild vibration in the windows. Still the strongest quake I've felt up north.

Sorry to hear about the earthquake! I hope you and the cats are fine.
