As for BPD and other slightly disordered personalities, I suppose the idea would be to sort through one's own collection of Angry-Making Triggers to figure out which ones most people don't have and are happier without, and thereby institute the internal analogue of Thomas Covenant's constant self-surveillance-- "Have I just injured myself without realizing it? Am I about to injure myself without realizing it?"-- minus the "LEPER OUTCAST BESTSELLER UNCLEAN" flagellation aspect. Whether this actually works is at best uncertain.
