Jan. 29th, 2008 09:41 pmeBay has changed its fee structure *again*. Listing fees are down, but final value fees are up; hence, the maximum savings compared to the old structure is for listing items that don't sell. Booyah.
Well, actually I just spent a few hours crunching my December fees onto a spreadsheet to see the effect. Since I didn't write up any new listings during that period in either auction or store format, this was just my store inventory going round and round.
Old structure: total listing fees $20.58, total FVFs $37.17, overall total $57.75
New structure: total listing fees $8.43, total FVFs $43.50, overall total $51.93
This is without calculating in shipping/postage or PayPal fees, which I might do later but don't feel like right now.
Addendum: After further number-crunching, I note that magatama and other bulk listings (Shikon no Tama kits etc.) account for about half of my sales, but only about 20% of my listing fees under the old structure, and about 10% under the new one. Which rather argues against the utility of continuing to make/list jewelry, but dammit, I *like* making the stuff (and then have to get rid of it somehow argh).
