Still have Martian Death Flu, now with exciting new ooginess. I shall spare everyone the details.

For some reason, the wombat-consort and I recently attempted to character-map Futurama and Firefly onto each other. It doesn't always go smoothly, what with numerical discrepancies between the main ship crews and, well, stuff, but here's what we came up with: If sensitive, avert your eyes and crank up the Enya. )

However, I'm pretty sure that no amount of shamelessness can map Hermes out to River. At least I hope so.

Meanwhile, came up with some odd thoughtlets after re-reading HP:HPB and pondering whether the "Half-Blood Prince" bit was a red-herring waste o' title after all. Possibly none of them are novel, since I haven't been plugged into the fandom, but hey, they're mine and they sprang from my brain cell boingy boingy and now lie in congealing tie-dyed stalagmites. Wait no, that last bit is just my piles of used handkerchiefs.Read more... )

I think I'm in Lerve. Pandora.com, as far as I can tell, is giving me most of the benefits I'd expect from iPod ownership without my actually having to go buy an iPod or figure out for myself what kind of music to get. It just keeps feeding me more music that I can use to further fine-tune my prefs, and even more music keeps getting played at me. Yays!

My only complaint so far is that it doesn't seem to have much (if anything) in the way of conventional classical/Broadway music, but it does have movie/anime soundtracks. But yeah, if they came out with a dedicated streaming widget, I would want it NOWNOWNOW.

Possibly even more than I want to get out from under this freakin' Martian Death Flu. Did you know it's incredibly annoying to keep shivering yourself into muscle spasms at the same time as drenching yourself with sweat? Coz it is.

(Oh, if anyone really wants to listen in, I have inventively named my Pandora virtual station thingy "wombat1138 radio". Mind you, the great thing about being a solitary burrowing critter is that when you play music really loud, there probably aren't any adjacent burrows full of wombats to amble over and bite your bum until you turn down the volume.)
