Finally uploaded a pic: an EXTREME CLOSEUP of Spot, one of the cats we adopted last year. He and his brother Shadow were born just outside the campus chemistry building where the wombat-consort spent grad school. They're both grey; Spot is one of those swirly "classic" tabbies and Shadow, well, isn't. Shadow looks all grey at first, but he has a diffuse patch of white fur on his chest, a few more white hairs in his armpits, and a really startling pure white spot in his lap-- he has white fur in most of the places where human males would start to sprout body hair at puberty.
I have a sense that an inaugural Cat Post really calls for more feline anecdotes, but alas, that's it for now.
