Oddly, it has occurred to me that perhaps among cities, there's some correlation between reputations for freewheeling decadence and for the constant threat of obliteration by natural forces. New Orleans, Amsterdam, and Venice; San Francisco and Los Angeles. This might be more meaningful if I actually knew much about Naples. But then, considering the list of top three threats and the events of the past few years, perhaps I ought to be more concerned about hitting the trifecta.

Perhaps there is some Deeper Meaning after all to the interchangeability of the lyrics/tunes of "Amazing Grace" and "House of the Rising Sun". But I wouldn't bet on it.
